Ada reference manual toothbrush

Abstract. Objective: The objective of this study was to compare the plaque removal efficacy of a prototype manual Deep Clean toothbrush versus an American Dental Association (ADA) manual toothbrush and the ADA manual toothbrush in conjunction with floss. Methods: This study was a randomized, examiner-blind, six-period cross-over, single-center study conducted in 60 adult subjects that Cited by: sites compared to American Dental Association (ADA) manual reference toothbrushes. A recent clinical study has demonstrated a newly developed manual toothbrush with tapered filaments (Meridol, GABA International, CH-Munchenstein) was superior to the ADA reference brush in plaque removal. Fresh Pro Flosser Group: Brushing twice daily with an ADA reference manual soft toothbrush and an ADA Accepted % sodium fluoride Crest® Cavity Protection dentifrice (Procter Gamble, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA) and once per day use of the oral irrigator at the research site.

Abstract. Objectives: To compare the ability of the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean power toothbrush and the ADA Reference manual toothbrush to reduce plaque and gingival inflammation by routine manual toothbrush users. Methods: This was a randomized, single-blind, parallel-design study. Eligible subjects were generally healthy non-smokers who exhibited mild to moderate gingivitis upon study entry. In this controlled, prospective, single‐blind, parallel‐group study, healthy subjects with pre‐existing recession were randomized and brushed with a power toothbrush (n = 55) or an ADA reference manual toothbrush (n = 54) for a 3‐year study period. Subjects were required to brush their teeth twice daily for 2 min. using a standard fluoride toothpaste. A manual or powered toothbrush earns the ADA Seal for toothbrushes when the manufacturer provides scientific evidence demonstrating safety and efficacy in the removal of plaque and reduction of gingivitis. Toothbrushes with the ADA Seal have had data reviewed by the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs and have met the recommendations for both manual and powered toothbrushes.
